It’s Kinda OK was born out of my embrace of weirdness, feeling “different”, the letting go of perfection, an acceptance of where I’m at & the intention creating a sense of belonging. I tattoo at Brass Iris Studio with a consent based and gentle practice that celebrates all bodies!

My first experience with ceramics was painting slip cast cuties as a kid that my Granny fired in her basement kiln. I didn’t encounter clay again until university at art school in my LAST semester - a classic story. I fell in love with clay. My first wheel throwing class years later, I walked out in tears because it was so much harder than I thought and the instructors attitude was “just do it”.
From there, I worked on my ceramics skills for 5 years and I now work as a studio tech and instructor at Eccentric Artist Studio & Gallery.
I want to be the guidance for you that I needed when I started. Ceramics can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be!
My intention is to get you comfortable with making a mess and letting go of things needing to be perfect by understanding the basics of how clay likes to move, join together and be shaped.
One of the biggest joys in Making Mud is getting to invite other instructors to offer their different teachings, backgrounds and stories with clay.
Making Mud provides a space where new instructors can practice their skills of teaching and spread the joy of clay far & wide!
